The weather outside may be frightful, but Byron G. Merrill Library continues to be a hub of activity in the town of Rumney. We have a full month for February planned with events for all ages and interests. In fact we will even begin in January… that makes up for February being the shortest month! At this time of year ‘cabin fever’ settles in so let’s all make an effort to get out and perhaps even try something new!

February 22 at 4 - 5 Christmas Club You may have put away all of your holiday decorations, but the Christmas Club celebrates the season all year long. This group meets sporadically to work on little projects throughout the year which make the details of the holiday easier. Please bring your piles of Christmas cards along with you… We will have some tips on what to do with your cards and some of us might even make a collage of our photo cards for our Christmas notebooks. As this will be our first gathering since the holidays, we will talk about what worked and what didn’t quite…come prepared to share your ideas.
February 24 at 10 Art Fun Rumney (Library) Rocks! Join us for a quick Make & Not Take program as we (adults and teens) start a fun community project together. Rachel will demonstrate some quick and easy rock painting techniques. The project involves painting a positive, inspirational word or scene on a rock, and then, come warm weather, leaving it somewhere for someone else to find, and hopefully brighten their day. We look forward to a basket full by summer.
February 28 at 3 Art Fun Take a break from your Russell School vacation and join Rachel for a fun art project. This will be a fun time for our grade school kids.
We do hope to see you at some of these offerings… Questions? You can call us at the library 603/786-9520, contact us by Email firstname.lastname@example.org, and follow us on FaceBook. The library is open Wednesdays from 1 – 5, Thursdays 10 – 5, and Saturdays 10 – 1. Once in a while we have a snow day! We encourage you to park behind the library and come in the rear door as the front steps seem to keep quite icy.
