March Happenings at the Byron G Merrill Library...

The weather outside may be a bit unpredictable, but Byron G. Merrill Library continues to be a hub of activity in the town of Rumney. We have a full month planned with events for all ages and interests. As we work our way through the month of March, let’s all make an effort to get out and perhaps even try something new! Saturday, March 3rd - Dr Seuss Celebration - You are invited to stop in and read one of our Dr Seuss books aloud. Stop by anytime between 10 and 1 for lots of silliness, snacks, and more.
Wednesdays, March 7, 14, 21 28 at 10 Preschool Story Times Our time which includes stories, games and crafts will take place on Wednesday mornings with lots of fun planned for the little ones. Our March themes will include Dr Seuss, St Patrick’s Day, Spring, and Easter!
Thursday, March 8th at 2 Knitting Circle We’ll celebrate March Madness with our Knitting Circle. Bring your current project and stop in for a cup of tea and some good conversation. Rachel will have a little St Patrick’s Day project for those who are interested. Do invite a friend or two... we need more inspiration.
Thursday, March 8th 4 – 5 Family Historians We invite Rumney residents interested in learning more about their family history to join us for an hour of inspiration…perhaps you have always wanted to put together a family tree or perhaps you are at a point where you need some help. You are invited to join us and find out what it is all about. You are encouraged to bring information you have and even your laptop if you have one.
Monday, March 12th at 6 - Ladies Book Club Our ladies are invited to gather at Carla’s home to enjoy a salad supper, discuss Close Your Eyes, Hold Hands by Vermont author, Chris Bohalian, and enjoy each other’s company. Please RSVP to Carla if you plan to attend. We have a limited number of books available to borrow.
Thursday, March 22 at 4 - 5 Christmas Club We celebrate the season all year long as we meet sporadically to work on little projects which make the details of the holiday easier. This month we each will be working at our own homes so do have a small project planned. One suggestion is to inventory your gift cupboard and start this next year’s list. Saturday, March 24 at 10 Art Fun Rumney (Library) Rocks! Join us for a quick Make & Not Take program as we (adults and teens) start a fun community project together. Rachel will demonstrate some quick and easy rock painting techniques. The project involves painting a positive, inspirational word or scene on a rock, and then, come warm weather, leaving it somewhere for someone else to find, and hopefully brighten their day. We look forward to a basket full by summer.
Thursday, March 29 at 3:30 Easter Egg Hunt – Hop over to BGM for a fun Easter Egg Hunt. Along with the main even,t there will be crafts and games to enjoy. This event is free and open to children of all ages. Don’t forget to bring your basket!
We do hope to see you at some of these offerings… Questions? You can call us at the library 603/786-9520, contact us by Email rumneylibrary@roadrunner.com, and follow us on FaceBook. The library is open Wednesdays from 1 – 5, Thursdays 10 – 5, and Saturdays 10 – 1. Once in a while we have a snow day! We encourage you to park behind the library and come in the rear door as the front steps seem to keep quite icy.
