Summer Reading for All Ages - A Universe of Stories
BYRON G. MERRILL LIBRARY has joined more than 16,000 libraries across the country to participate in the summer learning program, A Universe of Stories. The Collaborative Summer Library Program has created a virtual launch pad filled with many STEAM resources, activities, and training opportunities that libraries can utilize to help inspire children of all ages to dream big, believe in themselves, and create their own story. This summer learning program will coincide with NASA’s 60 years of achievement and its celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo Moon Landing.
This will be a great opportunity for our community to celebrate space science, with fun, hands-on and multimedia activities.
Byron G. Merrill Library will offer a range of public programs each Wednesday afternoon throughout the month of July to bring the excitement of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) to children of all ages. For a full schedule of events, visit us on Facebook at rumneylibrary or contact us during our open hours.
“We are proud that our Rumney Library will participate in this national program and pleased with the plans our children’s librarian, Carla Demer, has put in place.,” said director, Susan Turbyne. “We have partnered with Russell Elementary School to help our community prepare for this amazing summer program. We think people of all ages and backgrounds will find A Universe of Stories and the 50th Apollo anniversary to be an experience they will remember the rest of their lives.”
Byron G. Merrill Library is located at 10 Buffalo Road, Rumney, NH. Our summer learning programs are free and open to the public during library hours, W-TH 1-5 and SAT 10am-1pm.
